ANTLER TYPE: Elk and mule deer

1 customer review

Price range: $8,995.00 through $10,325.00

The Gallatin Elk & Mule Deer Antler Chandelier is a stunning 14-light, large-format fixture combining extra-large elk and mule deer antlers, built for great rooms and lodges.

Built from 18 antlers (10 large elk, 3 smaller elk and 5 mule deer), the Gallatin is one of our most labor-intensive designs. Each antler is hand-selected, carefully drilled and wired internally, then layered into a dense, sculptural form. Master-built by Dante Martin, one chandelier at a time, so every Gallatin is one of a kind.

Description

The Gallatin Elk & Mule Deer Antler Chandelier is a handcrafted, large-format lighting fixture built for great rooms, large entryways, and lodges with the ceiling height to match its scale.

This large-format design is named after Montana’s Gallatin Valley, and it combines extra-large naturally shed elk antlers with four large mule deer antlers woven into a single fourteen-light frame. At 36″-48″ in diameter and 36″-40″ tall, it’s one of the largest pieces we build, sized for rooms where a smaller fixture would disappear.

Why the Gallatin Elk & Mule Deer Antler Chandelier Fits Large Rooms

Because it pairs two antler species in one design, this piece has a fuller, wilder silhouette than a single-species chandelier of the same size, which is why it reads as a true centerpiece in a great room, a two-story entryway, or a lodge with exposed beams. It ships fully wired with fourteen light fixtures, and you can choose 25, 40, or 60 watt bulbs depending on how much brightness the room calls for, in either warm 2700K or cool white 3000K color temperatures.

Like every fixture we build, it’s UL certified under File E238337 for both the US and Canada, so it installs like any standard hardwired ceiling fixture with no special wiring required, and every bulb is fully dimmable.

Because it hangs 36″-40″ tall and spans up to 48″ across, it’s worth measuring your ceiling height and the room’s floor space before ordering. A vaulted ceiling or a large open floor plan gives the gallatin mule deer and elk antlers room to spread fully, rather than crowding a design built for wide open spaces into a smaller room.

How the Gallatin Elk & Mule Deer Antler Chandelier Is Handcrafted

Every piece starts with naturally shed elk antlers and mule deer antlers, hand-selected for size and shape before they’re woven together into the finished frame. Every antler piece is real, naturally shed, ethically sourced material, assembled by hand in the workshop. Socket covers are resin as standard – producing them from genuine antler would mean cutting into an additional elk or large mule deer antler and wasting much of it for a part that is barely visible once installed. Real-antler socket covers are available as a $45-per-cover upgrade for customers who want every detail in genuine antler.

Choose a natural finish for the warm, richly mottled color the antler grows in, or bleached white for a lighter look that suits contemporary interiors. Add rawhide shades over each of the fourteen lights for $25 per shade if you’d like to soften the glow further, a popular option for a formal dining room or great room.

Because every antler is a little different, no two of these chandeliers are ever perfectly identical, which is part of what gives a real elk and mule deer antler chandelier its one-of-a-kind, handmade character rather than a mass-produced look. Many of our clients pair this piece with rustic, lodge-style, or modern western interiors, though its scale and natural material work just as well as a statement piece in a more traditional great room.

If you’d like to see how this design compares to our other large-format pieces, browse our full chandelier collection, including the Snowcrest Elk Antler Chandelier, for a similarly large-scale design built from elk antler alone.

Real antler is a natural material, so a little care keeps it looking its best for years. Dust it occasionally with a soft, dry cloth or a can of compressed air to reach between the tines, and keep it away from direct steam or constant high humidity, such as a shower stall or a stovetop.

With basic care, a gallatin elk and mule deer antler chandelier like this one is built to last – one of our largest designs, with the same handcrafted, one-of-a-kind character as our smallest fixtures. Each one is individually handcrafted in the USA, so slight variations in antler shape and color are normal and expected. We ship anywhere in the US and to many other countries, and we’re happy to help you plan the right size and finish for your space.

1 review for Elk & Mule Deer Antler Chandelier – Gallatin

  1. Abe Johnson –

Dante built a Gallatin chandelier for my office, using elk and mule deer antlers, and it turned out great. It’s a big fixture that really fits the space, and the quality of the work is excellent. You can definitely tell the difference between real antlers and the artificial ones you see elsewhere. I’m very happy with how it turned out and would recommend Dante to anyone looking for a custom antler chandelier.

    • Dante Martin –

Abe, thank you! The Gallatin is a big piece, and I’m glad it fills your office the way it should. Mixing elk and mule deer gives it that layered, natural look you just can’t get from resin, so it means a lot that you noticed the difference. Enjoy it, and thanks for the recommendation. — Dante
