Why the Teton Fits Entrances and Bedroom Suites

Because it’s a wall-mounted design rather than a hanging fixture, this piece installs directly onto a standard wall electrical box – the same way as our other sconces, like the smaller Kootenai. Most customers order it in mirrored pairs to frame a front door, hallway, or headboard wall.

Each fixture ships with two dimmable lights, available in warm 2700K or cool white 3000K, and can be ordered with or without fabric shades depending on how soft you want the glow. Choose a standard wood back for a traditional look, or upgrade to a steel back for a cleaner, more industrial-feeling mount.

How the Teton’s Elk and Whitetail Design Is Handcrafted

Every piece starts with genuine elk and whitetail antler, hand-selected and paired for size and color balance before it’s fitted to the hammered iron plate. Elk antler naturally grows large and heavy – a set on a mature bull can weigh up to 40 pounds – so pairing it with the smaller, more delicate lines of deer antler gives the piece contrast and depth that a single-species design doesn’t have.

Every rack used is real, naturally shed or sustainably sourced material. Socket covers are resin as standard – producing them from genuine antler would mean cutting into an additional elk or large mule deer antler and wasting much of it for a part that is barely visible once installed. Real-antler socket covers are available as a $45-per-cover upgrade for customers who want every detail in genuine antler. Choose a Natural finish for the warm tone the antler grows in, or Bleached White for a lighter look that suits white walls and contemporary interiors. Like every fixture we build, it’s UL certified under File E238337 for both the US and Canada.

Because every antler is a little different, no two of these sconces are ever perfectly identical, which is part of what makes a real antler piece feel handmade rather than mass-produced off a shelf.

Real antler and iron hold up well with minimal care. Dust the piece occasionally with a soft, dry cloth, and keep it away from direct steam or constant high humidity, such as a shower stall, to keep the finish looking its best for years.

The steel back option gives a slightly more modern, streamlined silhouette against the wall, while the standard wood back keeps a warmer, more traditional look that pairs well with reclaimed beams and stone.
