Why the Salish Fits Large, Vaulted Great Rooms
At 50″-56″ in diameter and 44″-54″ tall, the Salish is one of our larger elk and mule deer designs, built for the same soaring, timber-frame spaces you see in the photos our customers send us – vaulted pine ceilings, exposed log beams, and two-story entries with room to let a fixture like this hang low and still clear the floor. Chain length is adjustable at 6, 10, or 20 feet, so it fits everything from a standard great room to a true two-story vault.
How the Elk and Mule Deer Design Is Handcrafted
The Salish shares its flowing, upright lines with our Cascade Chandelier, but builds on a genuine Rocky Mountain elk antler structure instead of mule deer alone – elk antler’s larger scale is what lets us take this silhouette and build it taller and fuller than the Cascade’s original design allows. Genuine mule deer antler is then woven in throughout, giving the piece the mixed-species texture and contrast that a single-antler design can’t match.
It ships with either 8 or 12 light fixtures, using 25, 40, or 60 watt bulbs in your choice of warm 2700K or cool white 3000K light. Choose a Natural finish for the warm tone the antler grows in, or Bleached White for a lighter look that suits more contemporary interiors. Because every antler is a little different, no two Salish chandeliers are ever perfectly identical – part of what makes a real antler piece feel handmade rather than mass-produced off a shelf.
Add fabric shades over each light for a softer, more diffused glow, or leave them bare for a bolder look that lets the antler silhouette and light do the talking. Like every fixture we build, it’s UL certified under File E238337 for both the US and Canada.
Caring for Your Salish Chandelier
Real antler is a natural material, so a little care keeps it looking its best for years. Dust it occasionally with a soft, dry cloth or a can of compressed air to reach between the tines, and avoid harsh chemical cleaners directly on the antler.
With basic care, a real Salish elk and mule deer antler chandelier is a piece built to be handed down, not replaced – a genuine, one-of-a-kind statement fixture for the room it’s meant to anchor.
