Description
Eight mature elk antlers are combined with four mule deer antlers for a fuller, more dramatic silhouette than a single-species piece – one of the reasons the Big Sky is a favorite among clients furnishing lodges, cabins, and mountain-modern great rooms.

Why the Big Sky Suits Mountain-Modern Rooms
At 40″-50″ in diameter and 32″-36″ tall, the Big Sky fits comfortably over a dining table in the 12-15 foot range or as a statement piece in a mid-size great room (see our size guide for the exact formula for your space). It comes standard with eight lights and can be upgraded to twelve for brighter rooms, and – like every fixture we build – is UL certified under File E238337 for both the US and Canada.
What Makes the Big Sky Different From Other Chandeliers Its Size
The Big Sky is one of the most involved builds we make. It uses significantly more antler than a typical chandelier of its size, layered and interlocked to create its full, dramatic silhouette, and it takes considerably more time to build. That extra antler and extra build time are what set it apart, giving it a look a simpler fixture of the same diameter cannot match.
How the Big Sky Is Handcrafted
Every Big Sky chandelier begins with hand-selected elk and mule deer antler, chosen individually for size, curve, and color balance before Dante builds each fixture by hand in our workshop. Pairing two antler types in one fixture takes more time at the build stage — the elk antlers form the wider outer tier while the mule deer antlers fill in the center for a fuller silhouette.
That combination is part of why the Big Sky reads as a more sculptural, one-of-a-kind piece than a single-species chandelier. Each fixture is finished in either its natural warm-brown antler tone or a bleached white finish, then sealed to resist yellowing and dust buildup so it keeps its character for years of everyday use.
Because the Big Sky spans 40″-50″ in diameter, plan for at least 24″-30″ of clearance from walls, beams, or stairways on every side, and hang it 30″-36″ above a dining table for comfortable sightlines and headroom. In a taller great room or vaulted dining space, add roughly 3 inches of chain for every foot of ceiling height above 8 feet so the fixture reads at the right scale from below.
To keep the antler finish looking its best over time, dust it occasionally with a soft, dry cloth and avoid placing it where it will take direct steam or high humidity, such as directly above a hot tub or open shower. With minimal care, a real antler chandelier like the Big Sky will hold its finish, wiring, and structural integrity for decades, making it a genuine heirloom piece rather than a passing trend.
The mixed elk-and-mule-deer design is one of Dante’s favorite builds precisely because it can’t be mass-produced — every set of antlers pairs differently, so we hand-fit each piece until the proportions look right before it’s ever wired. It’s a popular choice for lodges, mountain-modern great rooms, and dining spaces that already mix natural materials like stone and reclaimed wood.

Tim (verified owner) –
Everyone goes crazy over our chandelier and they spend time trying to figure out how the wire gets to the lights. You have to have an artistic eye and great skill to effectively make these beautiful works of art!
MOST IMPORTANTLY…..it has a UL STICKER so our inspector didn’t make us remove it! Rare to find!
Dante Martin –
Tim, thank you! The “how does the wire get to the lights” question is our favorite one to hear. And you’re right about the UL listing. We went through that process so a fixture like yours passes inspection without a fight. Glad the Big Sky is getting the attention it deserves. — Dante
